The Australian Made logo is an iconic mark on products made in Australia. But for those of us new to packaging design and product design, there’s a few key bits of info which i think will be super handy when developing a product made in Australia.
Incredibly, the logo has a 99% recognition and 93% trust benefit associated to it, so it’s a very powerful marketing tool that customers will instantly recognise.
The first (and most critical step) when using the Australian Made logo is that you have to meet certain critera in order to do so. It is not a free-to-use logo that can be applied to your designs for your product packaging. You are able to apply here in order to use the logo, where licencing fees do apply.
If you’ve applied and you’re able to use the logo, it’s important that the designer is given the style and marketing guide to correctly use the logo for your packaging design. We know packaging comes in all forms, shapes and colours, so the logo must comply with these aspects. Visibility and scalability is incredibly important for the logo. Some of the use critera can be viewed here.
There’s different types of Australian Made logos depending on the type of product. These can range from ‘Australian Made’ to ‘Australian Grown’. We’re also seeing a large amount of ‘Australian Food Labelling’ logos demonstrating the amount of Australian produce within the contents.
