Binder and insert design for blinds manufacturer
Binder design for Australia's largest stockist of window furnishings
Victory Curtains and Blinds are Australia’s largest stockist of window furnishings. These products include curtains, roller blinds, plantation shutters and awnings. Through Radins Australia, I was asked to come up with a new, functional binder system to display the fabric samples which customers can use. Predominently used by sales staff, these binders needs to be strong, rugged and transportable. The initial meeting in their Melbourne based office was highly beneficial as I got to see other suppliers sample books, expectations and styles.
Develop a fresh, new style which still exemplified the Victory Blinds design lanuage
For the design of the binders, it was important to somewhat stick to the style guide of one of Australia’s biggest window furnishing brands. With a highly recongisable colour scheme and existing design language, I decided to slightly modernise it whilst still keeping with it’s traditional roots. Hitting the target market for Victory Blinds is important, too, and was a strong consideration of mine throughout the project.
Along with the binder itself, I created three binder tabs to present the three different materials. They all had different levels of blockout effectiveness, so demonstrating this was important.
A fresh take on a historic Austrtalian brand
High quality binder fabric sample design
Overall, I created a traditional, yet modern binder which allows Victory Blinds to angle three of their stocks in a different direction and potentially improve sales substantially.
