Through the Mist – Desktopograhy Wallpaper

Desktopography nature based wallpaper

Desktopography is a exhibition where designers create wallpapers for computer screens, laptops and mobile phones. The vision of Desktopography is that even though using a computer is often done indoors, we can create a wallpaper to remind us of the important aspect of being outdoors. Nature, freedom and often peace. It’s a somewhat beautful project to be involved in.

In 2014, I created ‘Through the Mist’. Using Photoshop, Cinema 4D and a range of stock photos, I created a wallpaper design which allows viewers to have quite a relaxed, dark view of a scene. With the focus on the wooden, central logo surrounded by grass, shrub and ferns, I wanted it to appear as if it was floating and mystical. A sense that you’ve travelled to the unknown and discovered this particular, natural object.

Minor brush work was also executed using a Wacom tablet, for additional details, highlights and features.

I also recieved a Daily Deviation on DeviantART for this artwork. This is an assortment of submissions are chosen each day by this select group of staff and volunteer members who wish to showcase artwork they have found impressive or otherwise interesting enough to deserve being brought to the attention of the community-at-large.
